Overwatch, a strategic business of Textron Systems Advanced Systems, and AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems recently teamed to demonstrate Overwatch's SoldierEyes™ mobile handheld applications and AAI's Forward Airborne Secure Transmissions and Communications (FASTCOM™) wireless communications network at the Empire Challenge 2011 joint forces exercise in Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Together the technologies provided real-time communications and intelligence sharing capabilities between each Soldier and the Command Intelligence Support Team (CoIST).
Following two weeks of mock combat, Captain Sean Vergowven, 860th Military Police Company Commander at Empire Challenge stated that, "Throughout the course of the exercise these systems were determined to be a huge force multiplier for our unit. They allowed Soldiers to quickly form a common understanding of their environment, to collect and distribute intelligence from the edge, and collaborate in real time with myself and the CoIST analyst."
The combination of these systems provides Soldiers with relevant and timely battle-space communications capabilities that may be easily tailored to meet the needs of the military today and into the future.
Contact us today to learn how SoldierEyes and FASTCOM support each of the following:
