Distributed Common Ground System - Army

To address the modern battle space challenge of reliable and seamless information flow, Overwatch is committed to responding with intelligence capabilities and integrated communications to support network-centric objectives.

Distributed Common Ground System — Army (DCGS-A) is the Army's solution to meet these challenges. DCGS-A transforms the way Army Military Intelligence  personnel task Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) sensors, as well as move and process ISR sensor data and intelligence information to support commanders and soldiers. This system provides an automated and auto-assisted data-fusion capability to enable situational awareness and understanding, allowing commanders to accelerate the decision-action cycle.

In the fast-paced and changing environment, DCGS-A concepts have also changed, as the Army refines the evolving operational concepts it will support.  DCGS-A  provides the U.S. Army with fully integrated and timely intelligence and interfaces across multiple security levels.  The system performs true multi-source intelligence processing with information received from multiple sensors at the tactical, theater, and national levels, and publishes information through a Service-Oriented Architecture for multi-source intelligence analysis.

Overwatch has been at the forefront of DCGS-A software development efforts since DCGS-A’s conception. We have built numerous analytical tools, ISR management tools, and ISR synchronization tools in support of DCGS-A. Additionally, Overwatch has provided the Program shop with the DCGS Application Framework as a foundational architecture upon which the U.S. Government can build upon for years to come. This helps optimize the overall government investment while maintaining a stable framework from which new technology insertion updates can be fielded.
