ELT 5500

ELT/5500 is the flagship product of the ELT/Series suite of imagery and geospatial analysis products. ELT/5500 fuses traditional image exploitation functionality with geospatial analysis in a single, easy-to-use software application.  ELT/5500 is specifically designed to support the demanding requirements of imagery analysts and geospatial professionals.  NITF-Certified to CLEVEL 07, ELT/5500 runs on Windows platforms and supports a long list of government and commercial image formats.

Key Functionality

Geo-Documents
ELT/5500 provides users a geo-registered workspace (Virtual Mosaic) into which geo-coded images, raster maps and vector data files can be imported and auto-located. The true power of a Geo-Document lies in the ability to visualize a variety of image files and data sources by changing the order in which they are stacked within the document. In fact, a user could consider a Geo-Document the ultimate customizable map.

GIS and Vector Support
ELT/5500 offers support for a number of vector database and file formats used in GIS and mapping systems such as: Shape, Vector Product Format (VPF), Microsoft Access (MDB) and Comma Separated Variables (CSV). These databases contain both vectors and associated metadata called Feature Classes. When layered over imagery, vectors enable ELT/5500 users to create information-rich GEOINT products which are ideal for mission support activities.

Broad Area Search Tools
ELT/5500 offers a robust set of image manipulation tools designed specifically to facilitate broad area searches, potentially covering areas of thousands of square miles. ELT/5500's ultra smooth and jitter-free Pan/Roam function enables users to move across imagery, even JPEG 2000 imagery, with ease. The Dynamic Quality Roam (DQR) option in ELT/5500 enables users to specify the number of JPEG 2000 quality layers to be decompressed for display in the main window during roaming. By decreasing the number of layers displayed, the DQR mode enables users to increase roam performance with no noticeable effect on image quality.

Research and Negation
Identifying and studying changes in objects or locations is an extremely important need within the GEOINT community. Some changes may be quite dynamic such as object movement (e.g. vehicle or troop movement), while others tend to be more static such as landscape changes (e.g. new construction or environmental damage). ELT/5500's Four-way Comparison feature is a very effective tool for temporal research and negation, enabling analysts to view and compare up to four image layers on-screen at one time. Additional layers may be viewed and compared with a simple mouse-click.

Enhanced Dynamic Range Adjustment
Users can set a preference for the type of calculation to be used when performing a Dynamic Range Adjustment (DRA). Calculation options include: Default Percentiles, Lowest/Highest Values, One Standard Deviation, Two Standard Deviations, and Three Standard Deviations. The DRA function also enables the values below/above the min/max to be excluded from the histogram when calculating the DRA. This feature is especially effective for files with heavy cloud cover, dark bodies of water, or other similar low contrast conditions.

Common Geopositioning Services (CGS) Interface
ELT/5500 PRO offers an interface to the Common Geopositioning Service (CGS) which has been validated by the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) for use in targeting applications. CGS provides users of all image exploitation systems with a common tool for precise geo-positioning. ELT/5500 PRO also includes an intuitive Precision Positioning Wizard which guides users through the precision positioning workflow to select images, sample ground points, generate precisely placed image markers and create templates for distribution of results, all without leaving ELT/5500 PRO. The Precision Positioning Wizard also enables the user to select the Positioning Service (CGS or iGeoPos), the Source Selection, and the Minimum Accuracy required.
